Origins is our first CD project and features a collection of new music for trumpet and piano. Many of these pieces were commissioned by or written for Covalence. The wide variety of styes contained on "Origins" is sure to offer somthing for everyone.
Sean O'Loughlin, Los Angeles composer, opens the CD with an offering that is tuneful and remenicent of film score writing. Eric Morales' concerto is neo-romantic and rhapsodic; a perfect blend of beauty and virtuosity. David Gillingham's sonata is a tour de force of tempestuos challenge for both instruments. Folk song is in the style of Aaron Copland, a simple melody sung beautifully. For those who prefer a commercial influence, Raleigh Dailey's Sonata is mix of introspective melancholy and rhythmic vitality. Eric Morales rounds out the selections with his Passion Dance, a sassy Tango for Trumpet and Flugel Horn.
